PCR COVID 19 TEST
What is it?
A molecular diagnostic test that can detect an active infection.
What kind of sample is taken?
Nasal or throat swab (at Medland Hospital we recommend the nasal swab)
How accurate is it?
Highly accurate
How soon do patients get results?
Within 8 hours
ANTIGEN COVID 19 TEST (RAPID TEST)
What is it?
A rapid diagnostic test that can detect an active infection quickly.
What kind of sample is taken?
Nasal or throat swab (at Medland Hospital we recommend the nasal swab)
How accurate is it?
Positive results are highly accurate, but negative results may need confirmation from a PCR Test.
How soon do patients get results?
Within 40 minutes of testing
